It's finally here. After years of quietly building, expanding, and tinkering behind the scenes, the FreeloadingAllDay server has grown into something worth talking about — and that's exactly what this newsletter is for. Whether you're here for the movies, the games, the cloud storage, or just free stuff in general, NeonWire is your go-to digest for everything happening on the server: new services, feature updates, how-to guides, and maintenance notices. Buckle up — there's a lot to cover in this first issue.

One Login to Rule Them All: Keycloak SSO & the New Freeloading Wiki Are Live

The biggest quality-of-life upgrade to hit the server just dropped: Single Sign-On (SSO), powered by Keycloak. If you've ever been frustrated juggling separate usernames and passwords for each service, those days are behind you. Keycloak is an enterprise-grade identity and access management platform that lets you log in once and seamlessly access all participating services without re-entering credentials. It's the kind of infrastructure most people only see at large companies — and now it's running right here on FreeloadingAllDay.

The following services are now integrated with SSO: Mealie, ownCloud, RomM, and the brand-new Freeloading Wiki. That means a single Keycloak account gets you into all four with no separate logins required. A quick note on getting access: because Keycloak accounts are provisioned manually, I'll need to set up your account and send you a password reset email to get you started. If you haven't received yours yet or need access, just reach out. Emby and Ombi will remain on their own separate logins and are not planned for SSO at this time.

Also launching alongside SSO is the Freeloading Wiki — built on Wiki.js, it's a clean, searchable, and well-organized knowledge base for everything related to the server. Think of it as your manual: service guides, how-tos, FAQs, and documentation all in one place. It's a living document that will grow over time as more services come online and more guides get written.

This issue also gives a first look at several other new additions to the server lineup — ownCloud, RomM, EmbyWrapped, and the Freeloading Status Page — all covered in the New Services section below.

Freeloading Status Page

Ever wonder if a service is down or if it's just you? Wonder no more. The Freeloading Status Page — powered by UptimeKuma — provides a real-time at-a-glance view of every service on the server, showing uptime, response status, and any ongoing incidents. Bookmark it and check it first whenever something seems off.

RomM — Your Retro Game Library

RomM is a self-hosted ROM manager and web-based game library that lets you browse, organize, and play your retro game collection straight from the browser — no emulator installation required. You can play games across multiple platforms including Nintendo, Sony, Sega, and more from virtually any modern web browser, so whether you're on your phone, tablet, or desktop, your library is always a click away. SSO login is enabled.

ownCloud — Personal Cloud Storage

ownCloud is a self-hosted cloud storage and file-sharing platform — think Google Drive or Dropbox, but running entirely on the FreeloadingAllDay server. Any user can log in with their SSO credentials and gets 100GB of personal storage to use however they like. As with all server resources, please use ownCloud responsibly — keep content legal and appropriate, as storage is shared across all users and any misuse may result in access being revoked.

EmbyWrapped — Your Viewing Year in Review

If you loved Spotify Wrapped or YouTube's year-end recaps, you're going to enjoy EmbyWrapped — the same concept, but built entirely around your Emby viewing history. See your most-watched genres, total hours streamed, favorite shows, and more, all wrapped up in a shareable stats experience. Just a heads-up: data collection started in April 2026, so it'll take a little time before the stats are meaningful — but start watching now and future recaps will be all the richer for it. Log in with your regular Emby credentials to access.

Genuinely, thank you for using my server, providing feedback, and even contributing. Whether you've been streaming movies, hosting your files, or just rediscovering a love for retro games — it means a lot that you're here and making use of all this. Building this out has been a labor of love, and knowing people are actually using it makes every late-night config file worth it.

When I started this server back in 2015, I did not expect to grow it to the number of services and hardware resources that it is at today. I have put thousands of dollars and hours building it up, not only for everyone's enjoyment, but because I really enjoy it as a hobby.

Though it's been over a decade, it feels like it's only the beginning. With the advent of AI and more people creating open source sofware, I believe there will be many more services and features to come. Content is always being added and NeonWire will be right here to keep you in the loop when things change, break, or get awesome. Stay tuned.
